Ces derni\u00e8res apportent une information compl\u00e9mentaire sur la distribution spatiale des esp\u00e8ces.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans ce contexte de cartographie tr\u00e8s ardu, l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019<strong>algorithme SVM<\/strong> (S\u00e9parateur \u00e0 vaste marge ou support vector machine) s\u2019est r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e particuli\u00e8rement appropri\u00e9e du fait de ses  propri\u00e9t\u00e9s intrins\u00e8ques que sont : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>sa <strong>nature non-descriptive<\/strong>, <\/li><li>sa capacit\u00e9 de discrimination bas\u00e9e sur un <strong>faible nombre de pixels d\u2019apprentissage<\/strong>, <\/li><li>sa capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 <strong>traiter un grand nombre de donn\u00e9es h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes<\/strong>, <\/li><li>\u2026.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce faisant, des probl\u00e9matiques environnementales importantes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abord\u00e9es telles la<strong> cartographie de l\u2019esp\u00e8ce envahissante <em>Miconia calvescens<\/em><\/strong>, la cartographie de l\u2019<strong>habitat d\u2019esp\u00e8ces rares par mod\u00e9lisation de leur niche \u00e9cologique<\/strong>, la cartographie de la <strong>for\u00eat de nuages de Tahiti<\/strong> et sa r\u00e9gression probable li\u00e9e au r\u00e9chauffement plan\u00e9taire, <strong>l\u2019\u00e9tude de la cocoteraie des Tuamotu<\/strong> (ressource naturelle importante pour la Polyn\u00e9sie fran\u00e7aise), etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mais la contribution la plus significative a \u00e9t\u00e9 sans aucun doute la <strong>cartographie du milieu naturel terrestre de Moorea<\/strong> qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 propos\u00e9e dans le cadre du projet international&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/mooreabiocode.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moorea Biocode<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" obtenus comme la <strong>validation de l\u2019algorithme SVM<\/strong> pour classifier de la donn\u00e9e radar, mais aussi pour des cas complexes (grand nombre de bandes, donn\u00e9es h\u00e9t\u00e9rog\u00e8nes, donn\u00e9es \u00e0 tr\u00e8s hautes r\u00e9solutions), l\u2019\u00e9tude comparative d\u2019<strong>indices polarim\u00e9triques radar<\/strong> pour discriminer la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation polyn\u00e9sienne, une <strong>m\u00e9thode de sous-\u00e9chantillonnage <\/strong>pour pallier le faible nombre de zones d\u2019apprentissage homog\u00e8nes, la validation de la m\u00e9thode d\u2019<strong>\u00e9chantillonnage terrain sur les \u00e9cotones<\/strong> pour les algorithmes de classification et en particulier pour l\u2019algorithme SVM, l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019algorithme de ligne de partage des eaux pour <strong>segmenter les couronnes de cocotiers <\/strong>sur les images optiques tr\u00e8s haute r\u00e9solution, l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat de la <strong>m\u00e9thode de fusion SVM sur la v\u00e9g\u00e9tation tropicale<\/strong>, une optimisation d\u2019un sch\u00e9ma de fusion SVM connu, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce projet s&#8217;est conclu avec la pr\u00e9sentation de mon <strong>Habilitation \u00e0 Diriger des Recherches en 2014<\/strong>, qui fait le point sur toutes ces probl\u00e9matiques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Parmi les conclusions de cette habilitation, j&#8217;ai not\u00e9 que pour am\u00e9liorer la pr\u00e9cision des cartographies, il fallait:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>utiliser de la donn\u00e9e plus pr\u00e9cise (tant spatialement que spectralement)<\/li><li>acc\u00e9der aux sous-bois pour pallier l&#8217;inconv\u00e9nient de la t\u00e9l\u00e9d\u00e9tection classique qui n&#8217;acc\u00e8de qu&#8217;\u00e0 la canop\u00e9e.<\/li><li>rajouter de l&#8217;information sur le contexte (donn\u00e9es vectorielles). <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Tous ces points ont \u00e9t\u00e9 abord\u00e9s depuis, dans mes \u00e9tudes sur l&#8217;atoll de
