Cette biodiversit\u00e9 est aujourd\u2019hui particuli\u00e8rement menac\u00e9e par la pr\u00e9sence de pr\u00e9dateurs introduits et envahissants parmi lesquels les chats harets (chats domestiques revenus \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat sauvage). Pour autant cette esp\u00e8ce n\u2019est pas officiellement d\u00e9clar\u00e9 comme mena\u00e7ant la biodiversit\u00e9 de la Polyn\u00e9sie fran\u00e7aise au m\u00eame titre que d\u2019autres pr\u00e9dateurs d\u2019oiseaux (rats, busard de Gould, grand-duc de Virginie). En effet, l\u2019\u00e9cologie, la distribution et les impacts de ces chats harets invasifs ont \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s peu \u00e9tudi\u00e9es \u00e0 ce jour en Polyn\u00e9sie fran\u00e7aise, rendant difficile l\u2019\u00e9laboration de strat\u00e9gies coh\u00e9rentes et hi\u00e9rarchis\u00e9es de conservation. L\u2019objectif de ce projet est de caract\u00e9riser les abondance (par l\u2019installation d\u2019un r\u00e9seau de pi\u00e8ges photographiques automatis\u00e9s) de populations de chats harets au niveau de 3 \u00eeles de Polyn\u00e9sie fran\u00e7aise diff\u00e9rant par leurs caract\u00e9ristiques \u00e9cologiques et biog\u00e9ographiques, leur statut d\u2019invasion mais pr\u00e9sentant des enjeux importants de biodiversit\u00e9.
