    R\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la th\u00e8se <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de climatisation utilisant l’eau de mer froide profonde, appel\u00e9 SWAC (Sea Water Air Conditioning), est une alternative \u00e0 la climatisation conventionnelle, dont la consommation est pr\u00e9vue de tripler d\u2019ici 2050. Il permettrait une r\u00e9duction des consommations \u00e9lectriques des b\u00e2timents, et contribuerait ainsi \u00e0 inverser cette tendance. Le SWAC convient particuli\u00e8rement aux zones o\u00f9 l\u2019eau de mer profonde est disponible pr\u00e8s de la c\u00f4te, mais peut \u00e9galement \u00eatre utilis\u00e9 dans des zones moins favorables avec des variantes (SWAC avec stockage ou appoint froid). Il n\u2019existe pas d\u2019\u00e9tude scientifique bas\u00e9e sur des exp\u00e9riences \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle qualifiant les performances \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques du SWAC. La technologie pourrait \u00eatre plus largement utilis\u00e9e \u00e0 condition d\u2019en conna\u00eetre pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment les limites d\u2019application et de rentabilit\u00e9. La Polyn\u00e9sie fran\u00e7aise dispose d\u2019une installation SWAC op\u00e9rationnelle r\u00e9cemment instrument\u00e9e. Cette th\u00e8se a permis de caract\u00e9riser les performances du syst\u00e8me SWAC de Tetiaroa sur deux ann\u00e9es de mesures. Les r\u00e9sultats montrent que le SWAC atteint un coefficient de performance saisonnier (COP) global de 24,2 et un COP primaire saisonnier de 141, ce qui est environ sept fois plus efficace que les syst\u00e8mes de climatisation conventionnels (cycle thermodynamique \u00e0 compression m\u00e9canique de vapeur), r\u00e9duisant d\u2019autant les \u00e9missions de CO_2. Un mod\u00e8le num\u00e9rique de SWAC, coupl\u00e9 au b\u00e2timent, a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 et valid\u00e9 exp\u00e9rimentalement. Ce mod\u00e8le a permis l\u2019optimisation \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique du SWAC, permettant d\u2019atteindre un COP global moyen de 85,6, pour la configuration optimale, tout en assurant le confort thermique dans le b\u00e2timent. Une cartographie mondiale du potentiel SWAC a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e pour diff\u00e9rentes temp\u00e9ratures de puisage, mettant en \u00e9vidence de nombreuses zones c\u00f4ti\u00e8res propices au d\u00e9ploiement de cette technologie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Abstract <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The air conditioning process that uses deep cold seawater, known as SWAC (Sea Water Air Conditioning), is an alternative to conventional air conditioning, whose consumption is expected to triple by 2050. SWAC could significantly reduce the electrical consumption of buildings, thus helping to reverse this trend. SWAC is particularly suitable for areas where deep seawater is available near the coast, but it can also be adapted in less favorable regions with variants (SWAC with storage or extra cooling system). There are currently no scientific studies based on large-scale experiments assessing SWAC’s energy performance. This technology could be more widely adopted if its limitations and profitability were better understood. French Polynesia has a recently instrumented operational SWAC installation. This thesis allowed for the characterization of the Tetiaroa SWAC system performance on two years of measurements. The results show that the SWAC achieves a global seasonal coefficient of performance (COP) of 24.2 and a primary seasonal COP of 141, which is about seven times more efficient than conventional air conditioning systems (mechanical vapor compression thermodynamic cycle), thereby significantly reducing CO_2 emissions. A numerical model of SWAC, coupled with the building, was developed and experimentally validated. This model enabled the energy optimization of the SWAC, achieving an average global COP of 85.6 in the optimal configuration while ensuring thermal comfort in the building. A global assessment of SWAC’s potential was also carried out for different drawing temperatures, highlighting numerous coastal areas suitable for the deployment of this technology<\/p>\n\n\n\n
